Join me in Racing for Heroes
Friends,
As we are now in our 2nd year of the pandemic, and as we are seeing light after the darkness through which we have traveled, I am excited to invite you to join me in honoring our healthcare worker friends and colleagues with a jersey of hope dedicated to those who have served us since the beginning.
As a physician in pulmonary and critical care, I am honored to work alongside brave colleagues, who all rose to the call to help us get through these incredibly challenging times. And while on the front lines I have witnessed (and continue to witness) them work through the physical, emotional, and mental fatigue in the fight against COVID-19. I have felt that fatigue myself. It is real, and now it is wonderful to feel hope again.
One of the ways many of us have gotten through the pandemic is from the seat of a bike, or by lacing up running shoes, or expressing ourselves in some way. And to all those cyclists, Peloton riders, runners, walkers, climbers, and creative people, I am inviting you to join me in honoring our healthcare worker heroes.
Working with Panache Cyclewear, we have launched a clothing line inspired by the angel wing murals honoring healthcare workers we have seen by artists around the world, and we are pleased to partner with the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation to help raise awareness around healthcare worker wellness. The foundation continues to advocate to help improve the lives of those on the front lines, and as the pandemic moves into this new phase, with cases falling, it is important now more than ever to help those who have taken care of our family members, friends, and us.
